Even if you don’t get a coveted spot on the trip of a lifetime as a World Traveler Intern, the two runners-up for 2010 get some amazing consolation trips.
First Runner-Up: Costa Rica Sea Turtle Conservation Trip
The first runner-up for the 2010 World Traveler Internship, receives a trip, including round-trip airfare, to Costa Rica to volunteer for one week at a sea turtle conservation project on the Pacific coast.
While volunteering, you will play an important role in preserving an endangered species and receive all of the training necessary to complete the program. During the day, you’ll have time to relax on the beach before spending your evenings working on the conservation project. You may be helping to keep predators away from attacking the beach during nesting season or recording data for to aid in the preservation of this endangered species.
Second Runner-Up: Trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland
The second runner-up for the 2010 World Traveler Internship receives a trip, including round-trip airfare, to Dublin, Ireland, to explore one of the world’s friendliest cities and catch a tour up North to explore Derry and Belfast in Northern Ireland.
The tour includes stops in Derry and Belfast, as well as the world famous Giant’s Causeway for an experience that you won’t soon forget. From the pub crawls to hikes up the hills to visiting ancient burial grounds and Dunluce Castle, which is famous for having part of it’s kitchen fall into the ocean, this will be an epic adventure.
